well i started reading a book called Kurt Vonnegut and its pretty interesting. the book is like an autobiography of a guy named Kurt Vonnegut. the quote i found interesting was when he was giving examples of simple jokes and he said this, " Even the simplest jokes are based on tiny twinges of fear, such as this question, what is the white stuff in bird poop?" my question is who would even ask that? why would someone want to know what that is? my comment is that isn't it poop to but plus i don't even want to know.

So like I was playing PlayStation earlier when suddenly I remembered I have to post a reading journal. I spotted a book laying on my desk so I picked it up and started reading. Ms. Kay always says don't grab any book your not going to be engaged into but I actually enjoyed this book. I think the required time to read was like only 20 minutes at least but I actually ended up reading for about an hour. you might be thinking "oh wow an hour" but that is a long time for me not being a whole reading fanatic. So anyways the book is called LOSER GOES FIRST by Dan Kennedy. The quote I have from this book was "maybe this year my final present would be the black Les Paul guitar." l chose this quote because that sounded a lot like my past Christmas I was really hoping for a new guitar but in the end I didn't get nothing but clothes and hugs. So my question is "Don't we ALL just hate when we are really hopeing for a special gift and in the end we dont get it?". My comment was that i think we all realy haye it when we dont get what we want especially when we are so used to geting everything from our parents. so i think we should appreciate everything they do for us and dont just get upset over a gift that will end up being in the trash later on.

The Time Machine

"What has happened to you" is the quote that I chose out of the book The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. I like this quote because it has a different meaning to me in the book they are talking about a young scientist who looked beat up. But I am taking it to a whole different understanding. I see it like exactly what has happened to us, to me, and to this world. I mean we are in a huge earth trouble called global warming and we are just not doing enough to help our mother earth we seriously got to make a "change" and stop taking our earth for granted. also we need to stop all the killings that are going on. The question that I have for you "author" is were you thinking the same as me while thinking about the quote. Another is do you also belive that we need to change our ways and help global warming and help people in need and not kill each other. With this quote we can show people that we need "change" for the better and not the worst.

Power from Trees

A group of MIT researchers are currently using platinum electrodes and ficus plants to discover any truth or evidence of weak electric currents from trees. These researchers have come up with an answer. They state that pH difference between the soil and the living tree is cause of creating electric currents. S scientists are now debating over how to use this power source for any human benefits.

Maya Angelou

In the book we read " wouldn't take nothing for my journey now " by Maya Angelou, the last little paragraph was something that really struck me. The paragraph went like this " Life seems to love the liver of it. Money and power can liberate only if they are used to do so. They can imprison and inhibit more finally then barred windows and iron chains" -Maya Angelou. this quote just really strikes me because the way Maya uses words to make a paragraph sound so awesome.
